Step 1 – Turn It All Off and Back on Again
If your internet or phone service has stopped working for any reason the very first thing you should do is turn everything off at the wall, wait 10 seconds and then turn it all back on again starting from the modem, router, ATA, etc, and working your way back to your computer.
Wait for the lights to settle down on each bit of equipment before you power up the next bit. In most cases, each bit of equipment will have a bunch of lights that flash like mad when the equipment starts up. You will know what the equipment normally looks like when it’s running normally. After you have turned each thing on, wait while it ‘boots up’ (sorts its life out 🙂 ).
In 95% of cases this will sort out most problems, so please do this first. This will be the first thing we ask you to do if you ring us, so you won’t be saving yourself any time by just ringing us first.

Step 2 – Prove you have Internet access
In most cases the quickest way to do this is by using a web browser such as Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer.
